A Redcliff based Internationally recognized sports coach and mentor Partson Muderedzi has been honoured in the United States of America with a Presidential Circle of Excellence Award for 2022.
Muderedzi, the Zimbabwe Lay Witnesses for Christ National Director works tirelessly to nurture young talented people in sports.
Speaking to Impact Stories Zimbabwe, Muderedzi expressed his happiness for the recognition.
“It is a great honour to be given such an award, especially considering where it came from, as I have always been saying, l need to have a well-run sports academy where l can prove my sports management and coaching skills.
“With such an award I want to believe that I am in a good position to have good sponsors to support my sporting endeavours.
Muderedzi is an international multiple award-winning athlete who is passionate about mentoring and passing his skills to future sports generations.
“This award is all about someone who works hard in reaching the athletes for Christ today, to influence youths through different developmental programmes such as anti-drug abuse and anti-early marriages campaigns, among others.
“I also work towards bringing people, particularly the youths together through sports.
“Talent identification and nurturing are in my DNA.
” I am exceptionally talented in working among young people of all tribes and races, especially through sport and church programmes but above all, some of these things are God-given as l always put Christ first in everything l do,” he said.
Muderedzi was identified in 1996 at the Atlanta Olympics before he was appointed National Director for Lay Witnesses for Christ International (LWFCI)🇿🇼 in 1990 because of his splendid athletics record.
He also sits on the Hurst Texas USA Coaching board that is chaired by the twentieth century 100m record holder Carl Lewis.
His prayer is to find a sponsor, so he invited international Olympians to his mother country Zimbabwe to inspire the young people.
