This is how WhatsApp plans to change the way you receive your messages

WhatsApp has reportedly started to roll out the first beta feature of 2022 for iOS users. As per a report by WABetaInfo, with the new feature iPhone users will also be able to see profile images of senders along with the message notifications. According to the screenshot shared with the report, the new feature will allow you to see small photos of the sender in the notification when you receive a new message from an individual user or a Group.

The report further reveals that the feature is only available to only a few beta testers with the iOS 15 operating system as the feature uses iOS 15 APIs. The Facebook owned platform will reportedly release the feature for more users with the upcoming updates. As the feature is still in the beta phase, WhatsApp may experience some issues while displaying profile photos to specific notifications but these issues will likely be resolved whenever the feature will be rolled out for the public.

Last week, WhatsApp also started to roll out a beta update for iOS users. The update reportedly comes with hidden references about a feature that will allow users to create Communities in future updates. Similar hidden reference was also spotted on the beta update released for Android smartphones two weeks ago. For those who don’t know, the Facebook owned messaging platform has been working on a Community feature for a while.

As per screenshots shared by WABetaInfo, a Community has a name and a description, as seen on a Group. After entering the name and the description, users will get an option to create a new Group or link up to 10 Groups. A ‘Announcement’ Group is also seen in the Community. The report suggests that WhatsApp will automatically create this group for admins. Using this Group admins will share a message to all the linked Groups.
